YNU is one of the leading universities in Japan, established in 1949. It comprises four colleges in Engineering Science, Education and Human Sciences, Economics, and Business Administration, and five graduate schools in Engineering, Environment and Information Sciences, Urban Innovation, International Social Sciences, and Education. YNU has pioneered the R&D in information security in Japan since 1980s in the field of cryptology. In 2012, it formed the Research Center for Information and Physical Security (IPSR) with the wide aspect in security from theoretical research including information theoretic security, post-quantum cryptography, universally composable security to applied fields including embedded system security, cryptographic module security, temper-resistant software, biometrics, artefact metrics, cyber attack monitoring and observation, intrusion detection, malware analysis, and threat intelligence acquisition.
